As all our items are perishable and have no preservatives if you do not pick up your pre paid order on your scheduled date and time we can not guarantee the quality of the product. Pre paid orders not picked up within 24 hours will be tossed after 2 attempts are made to contact the customer, no refund will be given. If your order is not pre paid and is not picked up within 4 hours of your scheduled date and time, product will be returned to stock and sold, after 2 attempts are made to contact the customer. Customer will be limited to stock on hand in store at time of arrival.
No. We do not take orders through email, social media or voicemail. These means of communication ar not constantly monitored. The best way to place an order is to call in or walk in.
Yes, however, we ask that all special orders, and any orders over $50 be prepaid. You will need to stand in line if your order is not prepaid.
For all standard orders we require 24 hours minimum notice. During the Holidays there are special restrictions and will be post during the Holiday. For large or Special Orders please see below:

For all standard day to day orders we require an 8 hour notice from time of pick up for all cancellations in order to receive a refund. You will receive a credit on the card charged or check postmarked within 7 business days for your refund.
For large orders, any order over 5 dozen requires a 24 hour notice for a full refund.
Any custom orders require a 72 hour notice(by 5pm 3 days prior) for cancellations in order to receive a full refund. You will receive a credit on the card charged or check postmarked within 7 business days for your refund.
Orders cancelled after the mnimum hour notice will receive a 50% refund.

We pride ourselves in making the very best product that can be made. Although care is taken at every stage of our baking processes, sometimes pieces of egg shell, a fruit stone, nutshell or other ingredient not from the recipe can find it’s way into our product. If there is a defect in your product, we ask that you return the item, or portion of the item with 48 hours, along with proof of purchase till receipt and we will be happy to exchange the item for an identical item or one for the same price or refund the amount on a gift card, no cash refunds. Unfortunately, we are unable to make any refunds or exchanges without the requested proof of purchase receipt and the original faulty product.
Once an order has been picked up and signed for it has become the customer’s responsibility. We ask that you check all color, design, spelling etc before signing for pick up. No refunds will be given once item has left the store. Customer is responsible for any damage that occurs during transport. Flavor, smell and texture are all subjective. Our product is baked by our skilled staff following our own recipes which may vary from what you had expected. We do not refund perishable items due to flavor or texture and we reserve the right to judge our product quality for ourselves. We do not sell day old donuts, bundough, or danish.

Pies | Consume with in 3 days, only refrigerate if storing longer that 24 hours, take out 2 hrs before serving. Can be frozen in box 2 months thaw under refrigeration, warm in oven at 325 degrees 20 mins |
On our website we have the listed allergens for each product, or you may call our shop and speak to one of us to find out specific ingredients.
Please note that although a product may not contain a specific ingredient, all items are made in the same facility and on the same equipment as our other product and may have come in contact with peanuts, tree nuts, soy, eggs, wheat, or dairy products.
Yes, we have two flourless items, our date coconut macaroons and our lemon cheesecake. They can not be called gluten free as all items are made in the same facility and on the same equipment as our other product containing flour.
Yes, we have our Apple & Cherry strudel, all of our fruit pies, Russian Teacakes, and a selection of our breads; English Muffin, Norwegian Black, Poulsbo Bread, Russian Rye, Sourdough, Swedish Honey Hearth, Swedish Limpa and Sweet Black.

All of our cakes, cupcakes and decorated cookies are designed with color and presentation in mind, if you prefer colorization beyond our current offerings, there is a $8 fee for every two colors added.
(for instance, if you want pink & blue it would be $8 additional, if you want pink, blue & yellow it would be $16 additional)
We can not guarantee color matching.

Yes, we ship. We ship our Breads, Rolls, Lefse, Cookies, Holiday items and some bundough and pastry items. We ship Pritority Mail that includes a tracking number and $50 insurance.
Once the package has left the bakery we can not be responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged packages.

If your package arrives late, damaged or spoiled, please file a claim with the USPS. You will need to provide photos of the package and items along with the USPS receipt, which we keep on file. USPS receipts can be emailed upon request. Once we have received a tracking number we can not be responsible for lost, late or damamge packages, including spoiled goods.
Our first baker starts at 12am. They get the donut dough mixing and figure out quantities to be made for the day.
Sluys Bakery has been here since 1966. Previously, it was name Bauer’s Bakery.
Yes, Sluys Bakery is owned by Daniel Sluys & his wife Stephanie Sluys. Marion & Loretta’s son, Daniel, has worked here since he was 8 years old.
Sluys Bakery is known for Poulsbo Bread (created in 1974 by Marion Sluys and was a forerunner to the current day multigrain breads), our Viking Cups, Maple Bars and Apple Fritters, and our Happy Face cookies. Families have been coming for generations for our Happy Face cookies, they have become a family tradition with their children and grandchildren.
On a slow day we cut anywhere from 2k to 3k. On our busy days we cut 5k to 6k
